Event: OPX2-Forum - Enterprise Project Management - 06-12-06

Held in Milan on June 15, 10 a.m. at Jolly Hotel Machiavelli, this event is presented jointly with Simanagement srl of Turin and Planisware, a leading Enterprise and Project Portfolio software management development firm. After a brief introduction to Project Management, two case histories of OPX2 use will be presented: Chiesi Farmaceutici and Candy.

Internationalisation: SIMEST Partners with Rotating Fund in ACSE Rumania - 06-02-06

Simest, an Italian government-owned investment firm promoting Italian ventures abroad has joined ACSE's joint venture in Rumania.
The shares of Acse Rumania are now distributed as follows: ACSE SRL 55%, Simest 25%, Fondo Balcani 20%.

Myself Project: Next Meeting HEV Sierre, June 16 - 05-22-06

eLearning and its immersive multimodal simulation applications will be the focus of the conference 'eLearning: Myths and Realities', held on June 16 on the campus of HEVs Sierre, presented by Haute École Valaisanne (Università di Scienze Applicate is a Myself consortium member, with ACSE as project manager) and the Institute for Business Information Systems. During the conference many of the project's results will be presented in light of how eLearning fits into the future of corporate online training and how new learning technologies can contribute to foreseeable scenarios. Conference coordinator: Anne-Dominique Salamin, director of HEV's eLearning center.

Participation in Bologna's "Research to Business" Trade Fair confirmed - 5-10-06

ACSE will be at "Research to Business" - the most important research fair in Italy, held in Bologna on May 11 and 12. We will be present at the Consorzio Etna Hitech stand. ACSE, an active partner in the consortium, will highlight the following projects:

  • MySelf, a European project in its concluding phases which has produced an innovative eLearning platform based on "role playing", automatic coaching an voice-recognition technologies.
  • Sealspaw, a project being developped in Sicily whose aim is to deliver advanced localised services for tourism and cultural venues using multichannel wireless platforms.

New Training Methods for Avon, in Joint Venture with Orizzonti Manageriali - 4-4-2006

The projects aims at designing, developing and delivering educational material covering finance & accounting - specifically balance sheet, budgets and planning - in both basic and advanced versions.
Some material is conceived as preparatory material delivered on-line before attending in-class sessions.
The distance learning will be using ACSE's Integra LMS platform that keeps track of users' learning activities. In-class sessions will be covered in two-day editions; each edition being completed with learning evaluation sessions.
After class, users can access online evaluation exercises, support materials and documentation to strengthen competencies and guage their level of learning. Virtual classrooms will provide users with access to a case history, official documentation and FAQ."

Silver: the Dynamic Data Management Portal for Rhiag Agents - 4-4-2006

Silver is an ACSE-developed application used by agents and area managers of Rhiag for sales data analysis and entry of commission data.
Analysis is mainly focused on segmentation and updating of data: client data, products, price lists, sales campaigns and results (with comparisons to budgets and historical data).
The application provides dynamic data extraction methods in order to suit the requirements of area managers: standard reporting is developed according to target-employees and are complemented by user-designed reports. The new designs are then archived as potential templates for future use.
Silver is updated via automatic means (Silver Update) allowing for continuous and homogenous updating of both data and functionality.


SEALSPAW: Bringing Advanced Tourist Services to Mobiles in Sicily - 12-1-2005

SEALSPAW (Advanced Services for Locating Cultural and Tourism Assets through Multichannel Wireless Platforms) will deliver tour previews and mutlimedia data via wireless to palm and mobile telephony handsets. They will be able to guide users to various cultural destinations of Sicily and employ UMTS, GPS, GIS and RFID transmissions.
ACSE is a coordinator of the consortium that includes local entities (Accademia di Belle Arti di Catania, Teseo, STT, Delta80, Dimsi) and University partners (Università di Catania - Facoltà di Economia, Università di Milano Dipartimento di Scienze dell'Informazione - Polo di Crema, Università di Bergamo - Centro Studi per il Turismo, Innova).

ACSE eVIP-BUIC Research Partners in Project ONTOSCAN - 12-1-2005

A new research project, ONTOSCAN, will be conducted in partnership with VIP-BUIC, an ACSE industrial partner. The goal is to develop a prototype Multi Format Scanner with OCR for banking applications, as well as a Knowledge Management System based on an ontological engine.
The project will be conducted in collaboration with the Università di Milano's Department of Information Technology and Genetics. The project launch is slated for January 2006.
